Vitals fer a Raidin’ Rogue

Cannae be daein’ wi’ adventurin’ or slayin’ on an empty stomach an without my bag full o’ bit an’ pieces which give me a wee bit o’ an advantage.

So, Onionpeels over at Blog Azeroth suggested jotting down what we take for raids and I thought I’d do a little writeup on what I take as it sounded kind of fun. As a rogue I don’t have any reagents to bring (thankfully) but that doesn’t mean I don’t bring bags full of consumables to a raid!

When I started raiding I had one raid bag. I put everything I needed into it so I wouldn’t forget when the time came to go somewhere. Slowly, as I added more items to my repetoire and started doing a wider variety of bosses my little stash grew and now takes up almost two full bags, not including the extra stamina gear and trinkets I carry with me just in case!

Bag 1

Raid Bag 1 This bag contains:

Buff Pots: Flask of Relentless Assault (at least 2) for progress raids and Elixirs of Fortitude / Agility for farming raids.

Potions: Lots of healing potions (injectors supplied by Dryn, my hunter alt with engineering). As a rogue I’m often in the front line and taking lots of damage which the healers might not be able to instantly deal with. Having a spare pot of two really helps in those “oh crap” moments.

Haste Pots: I generally only use these for major progression fights (Vashj, Kael).

Energy Drinks: Thistle Tea and some other drink I got from a quest. I don’t use these that often either but when you need to fill up you energy bar quick they’re nice to have around.

Specialist poisons: Wound and Mind-numbing are both useful in certain situations so I always make sure I have some of them on me.

Sharpening Stones: Some mobs are immune to poison (boo!) so I get a pile of these made up every once in a while and keep them for those irritating bosses.

Bandages: Lots of them. Same reason as health pots, though I don’t use that many of them.

Guild Tabard: I usually wear my Illidari tabard but prefer to have my guild one for raids. It’s just a thing I like to do.

Bag 2:

Raid Bag 2 Food: Spicy Hot Talbuk (+hit), Tubers from a quest (+agi) and a few Blackened Trout for topping up HP.

Flash Powder: It’s amazing how much of this a rogue can go through in a raid if they’re all out DPS-ing.

Normal Poisons: Got to have plenty of deadly and instant poison spare as I have a habit of forgetting to stock up the ones normally in my bag.

Dense Stone Statues: I just keep forgetting to use these so they got stuffed in here as a ‘you never know’ type of thing.

Fun Stuff: Festival Brew, Bouquet of Red Roses, Piccolo of the Flaming Fire. All fun things to play with whilst your raid is waiting for everyone to assemble / buff or after a nice FK! In particular one of out GMs doesn’t like being rose-petalled… hehehe…

Bag 3:

Raid Bag 3 Not truly a raiding bag, I usually carry these with me all of the time. These are all the pieces of gear I have which have nice stamina boosts that I can switch in in needed. The cross is my Skyguard Trinket which can be useful in certain situations whilst raiding. I’m glad I don’t have to carry as much spare gear around as I used to have on my druid! I also have my Ashtongue Cowl here, which I handed in tonight after finally getting into a first-half run of TK.

nice list, I’ve never really had much playtime on a rogue so it’s nice to see things from a different POV :)
