Triple Trouble ‘wi a Triad of Shamans
So an elemental shaman an’ an enhancement shaman an’ a resto shaman walked into Shadow Labs…
A guildy mentioned wanting to go to slabs late on at night (about 11-12ish) on her shaman alt to get geared up and get her other half some off-spec tanking upgrades. Sure, why not. I always need more Lower City rep on my shammie, Avarix, and I can be dps or healer depending on what else we get. We grabbed a gnome warlock and threw open the last spot - to which one of our awesome resto-shammies piped up that he’d come along. Awesome! Four draenei, three shaman, this run was going to be interesting. The following is probably going to be a slavering rant into my love of shamans so be pre-warned.
It took a little while to sort out totems but once we did the sheer overpoweredness of shamans began to kick in. We absoloutely breezed through most of the place which was really not bad considering that the only ‘well-geared’ members were our resto shammie and our warlock and even then not overly so. Stacking Paladins is always nice for extra blessings but I’d say the three shaman group really complemented each other well and the rest of the party - buffs for everyone, more hp for the whole group, more mana, more strength and armour - it was like having 6 paladins for buffs and all the while doing far more dps than those six paladins could *ahem*.
I had an absoloute blast. The only wipe we had was caused by accidentally pulling two groups at once and we nearly survived that if it wasn’t for the rogue add… I popped my self-res, ressed the enhance shammy (who happened to be closest) and was sapped, then killed by the rogue… argh. Then the enhance shammy went down to the rogue…ARGH. The resto shammy had popped his own self-res thinking he could save us so we could beat the rogue down but it was too late and we were all shouting “nooooo don’t!… crap, too late”. We expected a run back to our bodies but the sheer amazingness of resto shammies saved the day… yes - our resto shaman killed the rogue with the help of his earth elemental. Lol.
The first boss was just funny. Fear? What fear? Three tremor totems really negates the problems entirely. The second boss was not so much ‘fun’ but was funny… three chain lightnings ftw! Luckily we had thought ahead and only had one heroism left at this point, which I blasted as we engaged for a bit of early dps and so as not to have myself kill people under it’s influence within mind control (I’ve killed my whole party when under mind control with my druid before… I’ve always been careful since). Having a bunch of spare chain heals really helped us all get back on our feet after the mind controls, too.
Third boss. Shaman dps at its finest (ok, ok, warlock too). I’ve never taken him down when he’s doing his first fire-aoe thing before…
Fourth boss was just funny. Who’s on adds? Psh who cares *totems* FIRE ELEMENTALS!
Utter carnage…
Shamans ftw.

-laughs- That sounds like a blast, Aurik!
Almost inspiring enough for me to want to keep leveling my shaman, whom I’ve hit a leveling slump. (I’ve been getting slightly better though — two levels yesterday, and that’s for a resto shaman.)
What was your tank? ^^
I LOVE IT! I’ve actually never run an instance with other shamans before, but it sounds like a really good time. Three fire elementals just SOUNDS awesome!
Lin: Our tank was a paladin - he’s just started building a tank set recently as we’re short of off-tanks in the guild so it’s handy to have a backup.
Seid: Multi-shaman groups are just awesome, really, and make up for lack of crowd control by really nice dps and group healing ;)
Wow! That’s pretty awesome ^_^
