Sunday Screenies - Sunset + Shiny

Too Sexy thumbToo Sexy 2 thumb

The first screenie is one I took a month or so back (whilst still levelling Jhai) - I’d completely forgotten it and only found it when I was poking through my screenshot folder today - an oddly pretty picture of Burning Steppes as I was flying over it.

The other two?  Some silly shots of my playing with my new toy - the [Orb of the Sin'dorei] in Mount Hyjal. *grin*

Sunday Screenies - Stockade Showdown

Haha! That wee druid really has a thick hide - she decided tae go show them uppity inmates fae the Stockades o’ Stormwind what for! It wis a sight tae be beheld, ah’m tellin’ ye.

I wanted some wool cloth and a quick google told me the Stockades was my best bet for grinding some.  I have totally missed this sort of thing - barelling through an instance, pulling as much as I could and swipe, swipe, swipe.  Unfortunately Stockades has the problem that many of the mobs ‘backhand’ which stuns you no matter what your level so my health dipped a few times when I did some or the larger pulls.

Three runs and about 11 stacks of wool later and I was grinning from ear to ear.  I really missed having a tank char!  It’s so much more fun than killing things one at a time.

Sunday Screenies - Alterac Valley

In the middle o’ a battle ye don’t usually hae time tae look around yae and appreciate the beauty of the landscape - if ye dae yer likely tae leave wi’ no heid!  However, thon young druid told me she’d found a nice spot and so ah took a picture tae keep her quiet once the heat of the battle had progressed further down the Valley.  Turns out she’s not got a bad eye, eh?

Alterac Valley

I spied the tree branch and just had to stand on it whilst healing - no idea why - and then noticed the really nice scenery behind me.  Odd to see such peaceful scenery in the middle of a battleground…

Sunday Screenies - Double Druids

Since I didn’t manage to get a screenie up last Sunay (bah!) I’m putting up a double round this week!  A while ago I was in Darnassus on my Tauren druid, trying to take some screensfor Phae’s Arbor Day celebrations.  I ended up in trouble with the guards and spent a lot of time swimming about in the water leading to my first shot:

In other druidy goodness, last weeks Kara run was choc full of all sorts of ‘em:

Hopefully, at some point, we’re going to try a full 10 druid Kara!  Two shy people seem to have snuck off the side - or perhaps the warrior and shammy wanted to get in on the druidy goodness!

Edit: Oops, seems I pressed sumbit insteadof save… oh well, ‘Saturday’ screenies this week ;P

Sunday Screenies - Loch Modan

Well, ah wis passin’ through Loch Modan, showin’ the weans the Dam, ken? and ah thought… shame, I’m hardly ever here these days, an ah don’t half miss the place. Outlands is nice and all but the lochs and hills o’ Dun Morogh and Loch Modan call tae me. So whit tae dae… well, take some pictures o’ course! At least then ah’ll have a wee something tae remind me o’ home.

I ran two of my characters through the gauntlet of the pre-60 Children’s Week quests in the end - Jhai and a baby Paladin whom I started a while back and had to run through Loch Modan as part of it, to visit the Stonewrought Dam and when I was helping Softi’s rogue grind through a few quests quickly. I really love that place but I’ve hardly been back there since I levelled Aurik! I nabbed a few screenies on the way through and one or two turned out not bad.

One of the random forts in Loch Modan’s hillsides, peeking through some pine trees.

A bottom-up view of the Stonewrought Dam. Dwarven Masonry at its finest!

As I level through on Jhai I’ll probably end up subjecting you all to screenies of lots of low level areas - Outlands is beautiful, has nice textures and skies etc. but some of the old Azerothian areas have beautiful, evocative scenery which, in some ways, makes them feel more detailed than some of the new Outlands areas.

Sunday Screenies - Azuremyst Adventures

Early on the screenshots this week (it’s just hit 12.50am GMT) as I’m not sure if I’m going to be in much tommorrow.

Some pictures from when I started my new druid - anyone familiar with the Furbolg starter quest will recognise the wings part from that but I just happened to like the angle this came out at - especially given the picture was taken whilst jumping off of a tall cliff at speed.

The second picture of Jhai I just happened to like as it seems to personify ‘calm’. I come from near the sea, myself, so find this sort of landscape quite visually appealing.

The third picture is a bit of a cheat given the title - it’s actually one of the quest givers, Vorkhan the Elekk Herder, at the small base as you go onto Bloodmyst Isle but… have you ever noticed the skin on his eyepatch? I hadn’t and it certainly brought a smile to my face. *Ahem*.

Sunday Screenies - Trio of Terokkar

Quite late in posting these in my own time zone (skirting this side of Sunday by just under an hour). They’re not, perhaps, the most exciting of screenshots but when I flew over these I just had to take some pictures of the sky, the trees and, of course, the horde village Stonebreaker Hold nestled away between them.

Sunday Screenies - Bright Idea

A picture is worth a thousand words, ma ol’ granny used tae tell me. Well, ah’ve always taken mah [Super Snapper FX] around wi’ me and take a snapshot every time an opperchancity presents itsel’.

I keep finding myself with screenshots which I want to post just because I like them. They may have a small story, didn’t make the ‘cut’ for a ‘proper’ post or are completely random but I figured I wanted a way to put them on here which would be a little more organised than just sticking them up any old time with some random blurb. Basically, it’s my ‘excuse’ for spamming you with random, inconsequential screenshots which I happen to like. It also prods me into actually having at least a little more in the way of predictable posts since I’m not quite as prolific in my blogging as some others.

So, /hug has gained a cheesy weekly screenshots thing. Let’s see how long this will last!

The ‘Bright Idea‘ of the title is for todays very first picture - the first and one I’ve had lying around for a little while and which made me smile when I took it. Anyone familiar with old-style cartoons will know why this amused me so…

Bright Idea

Yay for Outland’s numerous floating nodes. Hehe.

Dragons an’ Dailies

Haud’ on tight, we’re goin fer a ride on the back o’ a dragon. This is the life, wheee!

Sunlit Drake

I got my Netherdrake a week or two back but never really got around to mentioning it (it’s my second character to get one so I guess it’s not quite as exciting). Anyways, I have a habit of taking pictures when I find myself randomly in an area with nice lighting or somesuch and the above I took one morning whilst doing my dailies. I liked the screenie so much I made a very simple desktop (click on the pic for that). Nothing amazing as I really wanted a plain background which was softer than my old one. Shame that I couldn’t zoom out further to catch the tail…
