Double Druids?

I was born into the knowledge that, unlike those before me, time would hold sway with me and my life would mimic those of the other creatures around me. It would be finite, short, perhaps even bloody. With this in mind I dedicate myself to the wilds, to the world, to life whilst I have it.

Jhai on Bloodmyst

It’s the only class I’ve rolled which I can say I’ve been tempted to roll again. I love druiding, despite my current main being a rogue. This really shouldn’t come as a huge surprise if you’ve been read some of my other posts as I mention my old hordie druid, Mharai, quite a bit. I am a one server guy, however - I like to concentrate all of my effort on one place and this means that I don’t really have time for my old druid any more. I’ve been tempted, time and again, to roll a new druid but I’ve stopped myself for one reason or another.

One of the biggest issues, I guess, is that I’m not so fond of Night Elves as druids… I know that might seem really odd but I am rather fond of Tauren and some Night Elven druid are just completely stuck-up gits. They’re also far too pretty *grumble*.

Anyway. Softi decided to drop by Bloodhoof one night and start a baby-hunter. I had a paladin which I’d started but wasn’t getting into so I thought ‘buggrit - time to start another druid’. So I did - and I’m loving it all over again. Damnit. Altitis strikes again!

So, like a certain Mr. Shag, I’m also welcoming a new female, Night Elf druid into my blog ‘team’. As if the world needed more of those… *ahem* Say hello to Jhai.

Jhai

On a happily related note, as vaguely mentioned above, I’ve been playing my druid with Softi and Leafy who’ve rolled alts on Bloodhoof EU. I have to admit I’ve been naughty, though, and done more levelling than I should have but… cat form was being dangled right in front of me! How could I not go for it?

Gettin’ a New Friend!

Do ye remember thon’ we hunter? Aye the Night Elf lad. Well, dae y’ken he’s in Outlands now? I know, who’d have thought! Seem’s hes doin’ well for himself, too.

Every time I update anything about Dryn he seems to have leapt a great deal forward - He’s now level 65 and has been out getting himself a new pet:

Triple Trouble ‘wi a Triad of Shamans

So an elemental shaman an’ an enhancement shaman an’ a resto shaman walked into Shadow Labs…

Three Shamans and a Paladin

A guildy mentioned wanting to go to slabs late on at night (about 11-12ish) on her shaman alt to get geared up and get her other half some off-spec tanking upgrades. Sure, why not. I always need more Lower City rep on my shammie, Avarix, and I can be dps or healer depending on what else we get. We grabbed a gnome warlock and threw open the last spot - to which one of our awesome resto-shammies piped up that he’d come along. Awesome! Four draenei, three shaman, this run was going to be interesting. The following is probably going to be a slavering rant into my love of shamans so be pre-warned.

Effects o’ 2.4

I started out writing this post as an observation on how players were interacting after 2.4, how the level of co-operation was going up a little and, hopefully, would continue to do so. Whilst I was thinking on it, though, I realised it had more than just the effects I had originally fixated on - thus I have decided to document at least a few of the changes I think 2.4 has had whether they are possibly fleeting or long lasting.

Shinies an’ Stuff.

As a dwarf I do rather love my little bits o’ shiny stuff - but bein’ an adventurer, too, I adhere tae the rule that it doesn’t have tae actually shine to be pure gold. *wink*

Exalted, Shattered Sun Offensive

Another unashamed ‘lookit the shinies I got!’ post. I’ve been quite lucky lately and I think I’ve bored my guild to tears so anyone watching on here can listen to me now, too. I’ve also finished another of my self-set goals, too.

2.4 - Patchin’, Puggin’ and… er… Stuff.

Bloody hell it isn’t half busy at the upper-end o’ Azeroth. Seems everyone is keen on getting in on the action and helpin’ out wi’ the new offensive.

So, like just about everyone else on the wow-blogosphere, I have been participating in the shiny-newness that is patch 2.4. I know, I know, everyone’s already spoken about it and probably more eloquently than I’m about to but this is my little spot where I get to squee about the stuff I liked / disliked.

Elementally, My Dear Reader.

PuG

The end of Big Bear Butt’s post from a few days back kind of struck a chord with me.

In the end, my biggest advice to you is; if you want to meet someone, you are not going to do it by solo questing. You are going to have to get out there and actually meet and greet, do what it is you are interested in, and chat with the other people who are doing the same.

It can be scary, I know.

In the past, I have been in the position of wanting to have enough friends to run the 5 man instances, wanting to be in a guild that raided the 10 mans, and wishing I knew where to go to find one.

But my mistake was that I did not enter the instances on my own. I didn’t take the initiative to go PUGing. I waited to be invited into a guild, expecting to then start doing a lot more group activity.

And the truth is, the core problem I had was that I was intimidated by doing the instance. The time I expected it to take, knowing that I was going to be committing myself to be in a single run lasting an hour and a half, with other people depending on me not to screw up, was a big looming scary wall.

His post was in regards to getting yourself a nice girl guild but was relevant for me as, although I’m in a nice, cushy, wonderful guild - their level of progression is way beyond my alts and not many of them are willing to run normal instances on a regular basis. Not five guildies at the same time anyway.

So, I got out there and did it. (Headings included for those who hate reading about instance runs - y’can just skip on past them.)

Useful Links Fer Havin’ at Yer Fingertips

A good rogue has to know where to look fer his information. Without information y’might as well stand oot in the broad daylight, twiddlin’ yer thumbs and hopin’ the job will do itself!

Let me tell ye aboot this one time..

Puttin’ these all in one place so that, maybe, someone won’t have to look as far and wide for the links. There are, of course, plenty I’ve ‘missed’ but these are the ones I use on a regular basis for reference, not every single useful link ever.

Dragons an’ Dailies

Haud’ on tight, we’re goin fer a ride on the back o’ a dragon. This is the life, wheee!

Sunlit Drake

I got my Netherdrake a week or two back but never really got around to mentioning it (it’s my second character to get one so I guess it’s not quite as exciting). Anyways, I have a habit of taking pictures when I find myself randomly in an area with nice lighting or somesuch and the above I took one morning whilst doing my dailies. I liked the screenie so much I made a very simple desktop (click on the pic for that). Nothing amazing as I really wanted a plain background which was softer than my old one. Shame that I couldn’t zoom out further to catch the tail…

Baer is for Tank!

Big bloody bear arses! Cannae see ‘roon them, over them or, mebbe happily, underneath them…

Myself and a few of my old Call of Blood guildies from Sporeggar.

A few friends from the mysterious world of ‘Real Life’(tm) mentioned they were going to head to an instance when they got home and my little furry big, nosy ears perked up. ‘Want a tank?’ was my battlecry. ‘Of course!’ was their joyus reply. Sporeggar, since the beginning, had a tank shortage horde side. This was due to a couple of factors, mainly:

  • Belfs. Sporeggar is a Burning Crusade server and so most of the horde side was made up of belfs as people rerolled on a new realm to test them out.
  • A lot of people rerolled when they came to Spore - away from classes which had previously bored them such as their main tank prot warrior.
  • A lot of people rerolled from the alliance and many weren’t keen on the look of the races on the horde side other than the belfs.

Ok, so the last two are speculation but somewhat based on what I heard from people in-game. Anyway, I had gotten so sick of tanking reqests (really!) that I’d spcced boomkin. It wasn’t me though, despite being a lot of fun, so I got myself back into a nice little feral number.
