I’m Sorry…

consequences

“Deino,

Ta’zinni sorry for disappearing on ya. If you’re reading this letter, then I be dead.  I been forced to work for Malygos’s armies under threat that the family would be killed if I didn’t. Ta’zinni wasn’t gonna let that happen!  Don’t worry about me, just keep your kids safe. I have them fooled and I’m sabotaging them from the inside.

I love you, sistah!

Ta’zinni”

This quest in Dragonblight, and its Alliance equivalent have always cut me up a little inside – you’re ostensibly overturning one of Malygos’ plots, taking down evil subordinates etc. etc – the usual fantasy hero stuff and then these letters drop in your lap.  My troll warrior was the most recent of my characters to go through this quest and I reckoned she’d be particularly cut up because of it – being she’s a troll, same as the npc, and I feel it would confuse her straight forward, cheerful, if slightly bellicose attitude.

In case of any confusion, since I use multiple online handles – yes, this picture is also up on my deviantart account.

For the Alliance quest, Archmage Malin is right outside of the tower you port into Stormwind from. To this day when I run past him I hope he doesn’t know I was the one that killed his daughter.

    It is a beautiful picture.

I remember this quest (Alliance side) – I felt so horrible after I read the letter.

Your picture pretty much sums up how I felt.

@Hydra Deino is located in the equivalent place for the horde – in the portal room in Orgrimmar. I think, tbh, that it’s a great idea for blizz to construe these types of relationships between their characters – especially ones which are otherwise pretty static!

I don’t even read the quests most of the time so I love that you actually get into it!! So interesting. Love your blog! Keep it up. Feel free to read mine some time.

Wow very cool picture, is that a modified screenshot? Do you play on a Role Playing realm or do you just get into the story?

World of Weirdcraft.net your source or all things WOW

Ronne: No screenshots, nope – all hand drawn and coloured – though I did use references. I do play on an RP realm but I enjoyed the quests as much when I was playing on a PvE realm – really half the game is wasted if you don’t read some of the awesome Northrend quest lines =)

Dunno about Horde, but I finished the alliance version of the quest, and two days later I received mail from Archmage Malin, saying:

    Dear Hirion.
Commander Azuresteel’s personal courier saw to it that I received my daughter’s letter. The courier also told me that it was you who found it.
I just want to thank you for seeing to it that the letter got to me. I know that times must be tough for all of you brave souls who are daring to fight in Northrend.
Rest assured that I will avenge Emmy. The blue dragonflight will suffer for what they did to my little girl!
With the utmost respect and gratitude,
    Archmage Malin

This quest really hits deep */cry*. Kinda reminds you of consequences of your deeds…
