Dragons an’ Dailies

Haud’ on tight, we’re goin fer a ride on the back o’ a dragon. This is the life, wheee!

Sunlit Drake

I got my Netherdrake a week or two back but never really got around to mentioning it (it’s my second character to get one so I guess it’s not quite as exciting). Anyways, I have a habit of taking pictures when I find myself randomly in an area with nice lighting or somesuch and the above I took one morning whilst doing my dailies. I liked the screenie so much I made a very simple desktop (click on the pic for that). Nothing amazing as I really wanted a plain background which was softer than my old one. Shame that I couldn’t zoom out further to catch the tail…

Unfortunately, now that I have my drake, I’m finding it had to keep up with dailies… there’s nothing I’m aiming with for them any more. Roll on 2.4!

I really am looking forward to having the new patch available but despite the feeling of having nothing to do… I, in fact, have quite a few things I really get to before the next patch.

  • Aldor Rep - I mentioned a few posts back that I got exalted with Scryers… I’d been dithering for a while on whether or not to change to Aldor for the ‘better’ inscripton. There was also the really nice PTR neck which I can’t remember the name of - the Aldor version of which is going to be much nicer, considerably so, even, than the Scryer one. This means spending some time grinding myself back to exalted - or at least grinding gold so I can buy my way to exalted. Of course there is the bonus that I’ve gotten some new JC-ing patterns but nothing, really, that I couldn’t have gotten someone else in the guild to craft for me. Oh well, I’m a bit of a masochist in the self-sufficiency department so I guess it’ll be nice.
  • Instance Rep - I still need a lot of it on my shaman but someone pointed out a funky site which calculates instance runs needed or handins needed to gain the next level of faction. It tells me that my shammie will not need too many SH runs to get his head enchant and, similarly few, to get revered with Sha’tar for more nice recipes.
  • PVP - As much as I’m not majorly keen on grinding pvp for hours on end I really do need an upgrade for my helm… I’m going to SSC and TK with a blue helm due to really bad luck with drops for the t4 one. This week will probably be my last regular Kara run on my rogue as I’ll be exalted. I might go back for badges and whatnot but I don’t like taking the extra raiding night as I prefer to spend some time with my other half on Wednesday evenings.
  • Down Kael! - This would be nice but I don’t know if it’ll happen. Tonight will be our third or fourth Kael night - we’re getting a bit better each time but whether we’ll actually manage him before the patch? Who knows ;)

I’m sure I could think of more if I tried but I guess those are the ones I’d like to get done.

On a completely different topic… I’m in need of some drawing practice and I’m kinda bored of drawing my own characters (I have pages upon pages) and, since I get bored drawing ‘random’ characters I was wondering if anyone wanted to throw me a screenie or two so I can practice on their character? I’m just working on faces, really, at the moment - I’ve not had a lot of experience drawing more rugged/unusual ones so I’m especially concentrating on Dwarves, Orcs, Draenei, Trolls, Gnomes, Undead and Tauren. I don’t mind having a go at others, though.

I can’t promise much - my art ain’t very good, but I would appreciate the help getting more interesting practice. Just throw me a screenie with any relevant details and a few words about their usual mood.

p.s. A huge thank you to the Blog Azerothians who gave me a whole bunch of handy hints and advice when I was dragged by my guild to heal a Gruul run on my little nublet shammie. Luckily, for me, we ended up not going but I have no doubt that their advice would have gone a long way to saving me from utter failure.

    I’ll be glad to send you a couple of screenies later this evening from Netherstorm both with and without my pet.

    That is, if the servers come up and we ever get to Netherstorm.

    I’ll post them on Photobucket and send you the URL’s to them there if that’s okay?

    Ohh - I have to de-lurk! I have often bemoaned the dire lack of decent artwork out there depicting female Dwarves! I’m stuck at work on the night shift at the moment but I shall log in to WoW tomorrow and try and get a nice screenie of Hulan for you to practice on :)

    @Coldness: That’s just fine.

    @Hulan: Yay female dorf!

    As a new resto shaman who’s having very mixed success with normal PuGs I’m curious to know what these tips are. Any chance of a summary?

    @Andrew Most of the things they helped me with were things concerning Gruul himself and the encounters therein. Usually I get my info from a mix of Too Many Annas and EJ’s ‘How to Heal Like a Pro’ for shamans. I’d reccomend checking them both out.

    PuGs are always going to be a mixed bag, really. You’re relying on the other four people to do their job and if they don’t it makes yours harder.

    Hope that helps!

    I included a rear eso you can get a good idea of her hair which, incidentally, went white after a stressful episode in her life, she’s really quite young in Dwarven terms! As to mood, usually tipsy and mischievious :) I’m really looking forward to seeing what you can do :)
