Beta Pets

I logged on to the beta this morning just to pootle about and play with what my hunter could do and check out some of the new pets.  I found a few little things which  I wanted to share.  If you don’t want to hear about beta stuff, look away now (obligatory image spacer for feed readers)! *ahem*

On my hunter I’d deleted [Miniwing] after finishing the quest - I usually loathe destroying mini pets but Dryn is an auto-shot-grind-bot and I want his bag and bank space for storage purposes.  When I went to the stable to take another pet out I noticed that it gave me a dialogue…

The more astute may notice my druid is in this screenshot… unthinking, I clicked it before taking a screenshot and had to go to my druid and destroy her copy of the pet before taking a new screenie.  When you click the dialogue it automatically adds Miniwing to your ‘pet book’ - a big yay for anyone who has had to delete a quest pet for space in the past!  Also, I noticed that some pets have new icons - the feather in this picture is a [Green Wing Macaw] and the frog is a [Jubling]!

The barbershop now gives you a ‘bib’ *grin* It does make it a little easier to see beard changes and it’s a nice touch onto an already nice system (I love that they remove your shoulders and bring you up-close and personal).

Sephrenia pointed out the new sparkly pets in her blog a little while back so I had to go and find out what a [Captured Flame] looked like all sparkled up! Pretty, no?

Just a short, beta ramblings post today - Brewfest is here so expect my usual sideline commentary on one of Azeroth’s many yearly festivities at some point in the near future!

I’m thrilled they’re allowing us to recover destroyed quest pets — I had lost three this way! (Although the spider pet did deserve to be deleted one way or the other.)

I love that they made companions and mounts not use up inventory space.

I just hope they don’t get carried away with it. Like having a Quest Items tab. While that would be convenient, making too many things immune to inventory would completely nullify the point of having a limited inventory at all.

    Have a nice day!
